An Invitation To Emergence: Culture & The Meaning of Life
A night of philosophy, culture & community in Melbourne.
To things and stuff, or the hopeful becoming of a participatory wisdom commons,
There’s a Voicecraft event happening on Saturday 11th of June. 7.30 - 10.30pm, followed by an afterparty.
It’s called ‘Culture & The Meaning of Life’. A fun balloon to gently pop in the first few minutes.
If you’re based in Melbourne and have been waiting for some time for an update or invitation as to how to get involved with the project and the broader field it contributes to, this is it. And its unfolding will shape what follows here.
If its potential is something you value, then, really, you’re needed. It won’t be the same without you. And it simply might not be again, without you.
Beyond that, the right words seem hard to find.
Thankfully, I’ve written some before. I hope they are reflective of the sincerity and dedication poured into them. You can learn more and find tickets here: https://www.voicecraft.io/events
A portion of the event will be filmed—and perhaps even streamed if we can get the tech sorted out. My dear friend and collaborator Tyler Hollett, travelling from the US to Australia, will be joining us and helping to guide the evening where guiding is helpful. He’s at least worth a buck or two of the admission price. Maybe three.
I certainly hope and intend the happenings here to be metabolised and developed in the Voicecraft Network. But to those in the broader field of culture seeking to reimagine and remember wiser affordances for education, contribution and belonging, together in the context of this marvellous mystery—then, as always, I look forward to rippling into the hyper-conversation with you soon.
And to those who recall my last letter — I was about to head off to Esoteric festival. You might have seen the talk already, but in case not. Here it is.
And also, just the other week, I joined the outstanding philosopher O.G. Rose for a dialogue on the phenomenology of voice, which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to subscribe to Daniel & Michelle’s work on YouTube.
So between this and the psychedelic philosophy talk above, there’s an honest frame or two I do hope you find value in that sheds further light on the invitation above.
Near the end I mention some things about the event and a course in Transformative Philosophy planned to begin in September. So there’s that too.
And so, with many moments of deep appreciation and enjoyment intermingled with so many failures…
Discernment on the Way,
Tim
