Culture Is Not Your Friend
The last 24 hours to sign up for Transformative Philosophy & the almost title for this special podcast release.
This week’s episode shares a project update in the intro. As I say there, it’s just an underline to what you may have noticed occurring more over the last while — though it’s always been there in spirit.
In tension, for sure. But there.
That is, the effort to develop the Voicecraft platform as a context that welcomes many voices, allowing mine to take a back seat so that a more varied and whole, but nevertheless resonant signal can be shared:
A signal from those who are contributing in some form to the soul and story of this project.
It’s going to take awhile to get there, so there may well yet be many episodes in a row where the podcast does just feature myself and someone else. And I am excited about creating those too.
But today is definitively one of these efforts.
It’s a dialogue in response to McKenna's famous 'culture is not your friend' quote, exploring the challenges of transformation in modern culture, featuring Cameron Duffy and Ethan Wells.
You can watch the video intro and Terrence’s head shining through some shifting AI art over on the YouTube if you like.
And you can do that, choose where to listen, and find links to contact Ethan and Cam, along with their work in the world via the show notes here.
And in other time sensitive news, the following is a post that I bribed my pimp Zuckerberg to hopefully get in front of those who just need a bit of a reminder about the Transformative Philosophy course scheduled to begin in just a few days time.
No more BS. No more talking over each other. No more pointless content.
Mindless engagement. Disconnected, parroted opinions.
Develop your capacity to think, relate, and communicate what matters to you -- in touch with the living reality of others and the world around you.
Embark on a journey of transformative philosophy. Learn and contribute with outstanding faculty and a unique context of peers. The real thing.
Fellowship places are $350. It's a six week process -- with the main hub online.
You will also have access to two months of integration sessions in the living context of the Voicecraft network and onward pathways to join in, as listener or participant, to meaningful discussion in response to deep themes and topics of life and culture.
This post will be live for 36 hours, after that it might be too late.
The ‘might be too late’ part is because we have a few people on board, but there’s a magic number the course needs to reach to go ahead. If it’s not reached, the course will be postponed until next year. (And refunds will go out of course.)
What will be will be. This is just a message to those who were wanting to attend, but leaving it to the last minute. I’ve been informed by several people now that somewhere between 50 and 80% of enrolments are in the final days, and sometimes even day.
Although it’s orientation week from Monday, the cut off for that number is Sunday. If it’s reached, then enrolments will stay open up until the 9th. If not, then it won’t.
